The China (Shanxi)-Spain Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange was held in Barcelona on Nov 23. 

Hosted by the People's Government of Shanxi Province and co-organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of Shanxi Provincial Government, Shanxi Department of Commerce, Shanxi Investment Promotion Bureau, and Association of Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs in Spain, the conference was aimed at deepening cooperation and achieving mutual development between Shanxi and Spain in areas, such as economic and trade cooperation, technological innovation, new energy, and cultural tourism. 

Over 80 representatives attended the meeting, including officials from the Consulate General of China in Barcelona, the Catalonia regional government, the Barcelona municipal government, and the Badalona municipal government, as well as representatives from local Spanish and Chinese companies.

During the exchange, Yang Chunquan, director of the Shanxi Investment Promotion Bureau, gave a keynote presentation on the development of key industries in Shanxi, such as modern agriculture, biomedicine, manufacturing, energy, new materials, digital economy, and cultural tourism. 

He expressed hope for friendly cooperation between Shanxi and Spain and invited Spanish entrepreneurs to visit Shanxi for sightseeing, investment, and business. 

Representatives from Foment del Treball Nacional, Catalonia Trade & Investment, and the Spanish company Fitoinnova introduced their respective efforts to promote economic and trade exchanges, establish platforms between enterprises, and conduct technological cooperation.
